Quran is not an ordinary book; it is a source of guidance for human beings. It contains the message of Allah for all humanity and divine knowledge giving purpose to human life. Quran is the most sacred book on the earth and there are countless rewards for Muslims for reading, listening, learning, and understanding. Quran is rich with knowledge and wisdom which is required to live a successful life on the path of Allah.
Quran a source of knowledge:
Quran carries the message of Allah to its most intelligent creatures that are Human beings. It is very important for Muslims to understand the message of the Quran and live life according to its teachings. As mentioned in earlier lines that there are countless benefits and rewards for Muslims so today we are going to discuss the benefits of reading and listening to the Quran.
Most Muslims arrange a time at home to read the Quran and also listen to it. Before moving on to the benefits and rewards of the Quran for a Muslim, it is important that a Muslim understand and know the true essence of the Quran and the importance Allah Almighty has given to this Book. In the Quran, Allah says:
[su_quote]And We send down of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism and act on it), and it increases the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) nothing but loss.[/su_quote](17:82)
From above we can see that the Quran is healing and mercy for those Muslims who read and recite it.
A Reminder
Quran serves as a reminder for those who read Quraan and listen to it. As humans, we may be distracted from our purpose of life so if we regularly read the Quran, it will remind you everything we have to do in life hence keeping us on the right track.
[su_quote]Truly there is a reminder in this for anyone who has a heart, or who listens attentively with the presence of mind.[/su_quote] (50:37)
From the above ayah, it is obvious that the Quran is a reminder for Muslims the only condition is that one must listen to it attentively. Quran reminds us that this life is transitory and we have to live this life with complete submission to Allah Almighty and there is a reward for us in upcoming life.
Blessing And Mercy
Allah showers his blessings and mercy on those people who Recite Quraan and listen to it. In Quran Allah SWT says:
[su_quote]When the Quran is read, listen attentively, and fall silent, so that you may be blessed with mercy.[/su_quote] (7:204)
The above ayah tells us that if we listen Quran carefully and silently Allah will bless us with mercy. It is also imperative that one must keep silent and listen attentively when he comes across recitation of the Quran.
Guidance
Quran is a book to guide us about every matter of our life and tell us how we can please our creator. If we listen to the Quran we will remember its verses we will try to implement in our life. If we don’t know Arabic we should read it with translation and meaning. Learning Arabic may be difficult but you can remember the meanings of verses of Qur’an.
[su_quote]Those who eschew Evil – and fall not into its worship – and turn to Allah (in repentance) – for them is Good News: announce the Good News to My Servants – Those who listen to the Word, and follow the best (meaning) in it: those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are ones endued with understanding.[/su_quote](39:17-18)
So above ayah reveals that it is the responsibility of Muslims to listen to Quran and deduce the meaning to implement in his life.
